About TaskbarX

TaskbarX changes where application icons appear on the Windows 10 taskbar. The icon group can move toward the center, and TaskbarX can animate the group when programs open or close. It also includes optional background styles such as Transparent, Blur and Acrylic, plus multiple-monitor positioning controls.

The original utility was built for Windows 10. Its archived README explains that modern Windows 11 builds do not support the original centering behavior. Check the compatibility guide before downloading for Windows 11.

Windows 10 vs Windows 11

On Windows 10, TaskbarX is designed for icon centering, animation, and taskbar appearance options. On Windows 11, the developer explicitly warns that its original behavior does not work on newer builds. For built-in Windows 11 alignment use Settings → Personalization → Taskbar → Taskbar behaviors.

Latest listed archived release: 1.7.8.0. The GitHub project has been read-only since June 2025. Avoid assuming that a newly dated third-party mirror is a new developer release.
