Change TaskbarX Centering Animations

Select animation behavior when the number of running apps changes.

Quick answer

Select animation behavior when the number of running apps changes. This walkthrough describes the practical sequence for the original TaskbarX project, rather than promising that every option works on every Windows release.

Steps for this task

  1. Open the Animation tab of the Configurator.
  2. Choose an easing type rather than changing several controls at once.
  3. Apply the new animation and open two application windows.
  4. If movement feels distracting select the no-animation option.

How to confirm the result

Icons shift with the selected motion, or move immediately when animation is disabled. For a positioning or animation change, inspect the taskbar before and after opening or closing a normal app window. For a startup or file problem, check the executable location and the Windows Task Scheduler entry.

Compatibility and recovery

Animations do not fix a TaskbarX compatibility problem on Windows 11.

TaskbarX is primarily a Windows 10 utility. If a feature is absent or unsupported, close TaskbarX, remove any unwanted scheduled launch task, and return to the normal Windows taskbar rather than installing undocumented patches.
